In the context of LIONS RANathon gNB, CBRS can be utilized through the use of the SAS (Spectrum Access System) Domain Proxy located at BBU/EMS, and the CBSD (Citizen Broadband Radio Service Devices) Agent positioned at RU.
The SAS Domain Proxy establishes communication with an external CBRS authorization server to allocate valuable spectrum. Simultaneously, the CBSD agent synchronizes with the SAS Domain Proxy to guarantee the appropriate utilization of the allocated spectrum. LIONS’ CBRS SAS support has been rigorously tested and certified by multiple authorization servers and the FCC.
