LIONS Technology is proud to participate in the O-RAN Alliance Global PlugFest Spring 2025, hosted at the North American OTIC in Central Iowa (ARA) at Iowa State University.

As part of this global multi-vendor interoperability and performance testing event, LIONS demonstrated its 4T4R 5W/channel outdoor Radio Unit (O-RU) and Fronthaul Gateway in end-to-end (E2E) scenarios. The tests were conducted in collaboration with an open-source CU/DU stack and focused on rural and agricultural use cases, validating flexible cell configurations and fronthaul deployment models.

LIONS’ Fronthaul Gateway played a key role in aggregating multiple O-RU connections and synchronizing the network via GPS timing. This setup highlights LIONS’ commitment to advancing open and cost-efficient RAN solutions tailored for private networks and rural coverage expansion.

The PlugFest offered an important opportunity for vendors and operators to validate interoperability and performance across diverse network elements. LIONS’ participation underscores its continued contribution to the open RAN ecosystem and its focus on practical deployment environments beyond dense urban areas.
