CBRS ORAN Solution for OCUDU: FCC-Certified O-RU & EMS

LIONS Technology is proud to announce its comprehensive CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) solution tailored specifically for the OCUDU community, delivering one of the industry’s first fully integrated O-RU and management setups with direct support for OCUDU v26.04.

As the demand for Private 5G and enterprise networks continues to grow rapidly in the United States, seamlessly integrating open-source software stacks with FCC-compliant, deployment-ready hardware remains a key challenge for system integrators and operators. By bridging the gap between open-source CU/DU software and certified radio hardware, LIONS Technology empowers the OCUDU ecosystem with a streamlined, scalable, and fully disaggregated CBRS deployment framework.

Complete End-to-End CBRS Integration

The newly introduced CBRS solution addresses major integration bottlenecks by combining LIONS’ FCC-certified Radio Units with native Element Management System (EMS) capabilities and built-in Spectrum Access System (SAS) management.

Key Technical Highlights:

  • Deep OCUDU v26.04 Integration LIONS EMS natively manages the OCUDU v26.04 stack, providing comprehensive control ranging from precise parameter configurations to reliable Start/Stop system operations.

  • CBRS Release 1 & 2 Readiness The solution features a built-in Domain Proxy Manager (DPM) that establishes direct, secure communications with SAS servers via HTTPS and Open API, automating frequency allocation and power authorization.

  • FCC-Certified Band n48 Hardware LIONS O-RUs are fully compliant with FCC Part 96 and Part 15 regulations for Band n48, supporting both Priority Access License (PAL) and General Authorized Access (GAA) Carrier Aggregation (CA).
  • Advanced O-RAN M-Plane v6 Compliance Delivers end-to-end O-RAN M-Plane v6 compliance using WebSockets and standardized YAML files, ensuring clean, hassle-free configuration and management across multi-vendor environments.

Accelerating Private 5G Deployments

By eliminating complex O-RU integration and compliance hurdles, LIONS Technology enables enterprises and solution providers leveraging OCUDU to drastically reduce time-to-market for enterprise Private 5G networks.

This release marks Part 1 of LIONS’ ongoing technical series demonstrating real-world interoperability and performance. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we will dive deeper into how the LIONS Domain Proxy Manager (DPM) architecture simplifies SAS integration for seamless CBRS network operation.
